Somewhere beneath the noise, something has been moving since 1994.
No one knows exactly what it is.
Lavatone is an experimental dark ambient, drone, and noise project created by Drew Holder. Its sound is built from drones, sustained tones, distortion, and the strange physical voice of the Beam.
Drones stretch into the distance. Harmonics appear from nowhere. Something resembling a melody may surface briefly before disappearing beneath layers of noise.
The music is slow, heavy, and immersive—sometimes almost silent, sometimes massive enough to feel geological.
There are no fixed destinations. Only vibration, decay, repetition, and the gradual transformation of sound into something unfamiliar.
Lavatone lives in a world of noise.
It has been there for a long time.
